The benefits of changing to the SI Metric system of measurement would be greater than the cost of changing. Just as the New York Stock Exchange found the decimal system was as effective and easier to handle on a computer than using thirty seconds of a point, people will find that the Metric system of measurement is just as easy, to understand and use, as the dollar monetary system.

We produce items that have to compete with those made in countries where workers are being paid the equivilent of $10 per day and the workers in the U. S. are paid a minimum of $7.50 per hour. Even American consumers demand the lower priced product. Additionally, our products are made to dimensions that much of the world does not comprehend. Even our neighbors in Canada and Mexico use the SI Metric sytem. Americans are not so dim-witted that they can't learn the SI Metric System in a couple of weeks. Changing all manufacturing to Metric will take longer but should be accomplished as soon as is practical. The mixed system we are now using (taking medications rated in mg/lb) is ridiculous.

Graduation Came and Went!

Graduation was actually fun to watch. We stayed the night and returned home Saturday morning. Granddaughter started college Monday and expects to be a sophomore in the Fall. One of the young women was receiving her high school diploma and already has an associate degree from the junior college. She will go into her junior year of college in the Fall semester at a major university.

Texas Legislature Passes Anti-Abortion Bill

Let's give a round of applause to the Texas Legislature. They are the embodiment of the Taliban. If they disagree with anything on religious grounds they will pass a law that prevents or inhibits citizens of the state from engaging in the practice.

Site Update

This site is created using the Arachnophilia and CSSed text editors. The files are transferred to the web using gftp. I check the layout using Firefox and Chrome browsers. I refuse to spend time trying to work around all the idiosyncrasies of the Internet Explorer browsers. If things look out of place, get a decent browser. They are free on the Internet. At the cnet site, pick number 2, 4 or 6 or all three and see which you like best.
